ActOne is celebrating its 3rd birthday this month, and we invite you to enjoy the magic of cinema with us. On Saturday 12th October, all tickets will be only £5 for all films, all day.
Francis Ford Coppola's epic sci-fi Megalopolis, frenzied and satirical The Substance, smart and surreal In Camera and compelling drama The Goldman Case are all showing now. From Friday 4th October, the much-anticipated follow-up to Joker will show - Joker: Folie à Deux and The Outrun with sensational Saoirse Ronan - tickets are on sale now.
The half-term holiday will be filled with family-friendly films (titles and times to be confirmed soon)
On Wednesday 9th October at 6.00pm, we welcome back the monthly short film open mic night, Sound & Vision. Tickets are only £7 for two hours of short films of all genres and networking drinks at the lounge afterwards.
Our usual weekly staples like Carers & Babies Club Tuesdays, closed-captioned screening Wednesdays, Relaxed Screening Thursdays and our evolving programme can be seen and tickets booked at ActOneCinema.co.uk
Special events Returning by popular demand, on Sunday 13th October at 2.00pm we are screening the documentary: Eric Ravilious: Drawn to War. The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with the films director - Margy Kinmonth.
Monday 14th October evening will belong to the reggae band Cimarons. Mark Warmington's documentary Harder Than The Rock: The Cimarons Story will be followed by a live Q&A with the director and the the surviving band members. It will be moderated by Mark Kermode, and you can choose between 6.30 and 7.15pm screenings.
On Tuesday 15th October at 7.15pm, the Royal Ballet broadcast LIVE for one night only offers an Alice's Adventures in Wonderland performance.
Sunday 20th October at 2.30pm presents a UK premiere of I Am The River, The River Is Me. a documentary about The Whanganui River in Aotearoa/New Zealand, the first in the world to be recognised as a living and indivisible being. The film will be followed by a live Q&A with multiple fascinating speakers. Pay what you can tickets.
Take a stroll down an enchanted forest with Red Riding Hood on Sunday 27th October at 2.30pm when we screen the family folk opera Wolf Witch Giant Fairy, an Olivier Award-winning family production from 2021,
In the lounge Our monthly Board Games Night is on Wednesday 2nd October from 6.00 pm. Entry is free and all are welcome.
Friday 11th October at 7.00pm, our Lounge welcomes back Ryan Denham's Untitled Comedy - an evening of stand-up comedians doing what they love the most, making others laugh. Free entry.
On Saturday 19th October at 8.00 pm we welcome back Trent Pieterse Trio for a live jazz night - free entry, great music, cosy atmosphere.
Our popular free Open Mic Night rounds up the month on Thursday 31 October, from 7.30 pm, performances start at 8.00 pm on a first-come, first-served basis. Halloween costumes are encouraged!
